Tips From Dr. Val's book...
1. Snacking on yellow and red peppers is not only a low calorie treat, they are also rich in fiber and betacarotene.
Presentation is everything so sliced them and arrange them in a beautiful color display on your plate.
2. Fat has 9 calories per gram compared to 4 calories per gram for carbohydrates or protein.
3. Don't eat directly out of food packages. Munching from a large bag of chips or a half-gallon container of ice cream makes you lose track of how much you are eating.
4. Eat slowly. Savor your food. If you wolf it down, you can consume loads of extra calories before your body realizes it's been fed.
5. When you're comfortably full, stop eating. Contrary to what your mother may have told you, the food you leave on your plate will not contribute to starvation anywhere elase in the world!
